--------------------

Features:

- 32-bit VST 2.4 effect plugin for Windows (can be bridged to be used in 64-bit hosts).

- Transparent true peak limiter / loudness maximizer with look-ahead.

- Simple but effective controls to fluently adjust the sound.

- 4x Inter-Sample Peak (ISP) detection, with the same efficiency as 4x linear phase oversampling, but without any of the common downsides, such as additional sound artifacts or heavy CPU-load.

- Compliant with the latest international recommendations for true peak detection, such as those described in ITU-R BS.1770-4.

- 5ms latency (compensated).

- Support for all sample rates between 8kHz - 384kHz.

Installing:

Simply copy the .dll file from the zip archive to your VST plugins folder.

--------------------

Adjustments:

THRESHOLD - Sets the highest allowed input level. At this point, the parts of the input signal that exceed the level, will be limited to this level.

CEILING - Sets the highest allowed output level. The signal will be simply scaled, so that the parts that reached or exceeded the threshold level, will now be at the ceiling level.

SMOOTHNESS - Determines how clean and calm the general sound will be. Lower values give you louder, more saturated sound, while higher values result in quieter, more natural sound.

4X ISP (Inter-Sample Peak detection) - Takes care of the 'invisible' peaks between reqular sample peaks, giving more accurate and clean result when the signal hits DA-conversion. It's highly recommended to turn the detection ON when you're using Maxwell Smart as the final mastering limiter, and you want the true output level to mach the ceiling level.

STEREO LINK - When ON, the same amount of gain reduction will be applied to both channels, and stereo field will be maintained as well as possible. When OFF, the channels will be processed individually, which might bring more loudness, but affect the stereo field more.

TRANSIENTS - This is how sharp or soft the short peaks (mainly 'attacks' of sounds) will be. "Sharp" gives you a bit clearer but more saturated transients, while "Soft" results in slightly more bass-friendly but more damped transients.
